Laser Optics
Laser optics encompass all optical components used within laser systems or instruments for manipulating and controlling laser light. These components demand stringent surface quality and coating standards compared to standard imaging optics. Exceptional surface quality is essential in sensitive laser applications, particularly for components like laser mirrors and prisms. It’s imperative to minimize optical losses and ensure high laser damage thresholds, especially for applications involving high-energy pulsed lasers like Q-switched high-power lasers.
At Avantier, we specialize in designing and manufacturing a wide range of high precision custom laser optics. Our cutting-edge equipment empowers us to produce top-tier optics components that consistently deliver optimal performance even when operating under the most challenging conditions. These components find utility in CO2 lasers, high-power fiber lasers, solid-state lasers, laser diode applications, and systems requiring high peak power. Our laser optics portfolio includes laser lenses, laser line filters, laser prisms, laser mirrors, laser line beamsplitters, laser beam expanders, and more.
Diverse Substrates and Coatings:
Laser optical elements can be made from a wide range of substrates for meeting different laser application requirements, including BK7, H-K9L, Sapphire, UV-grade fused silica, IR-grade fused silica, calcium fluoride (CaF2), magnesium fluoride (MgF2), zinc selenide (ZnSe), zinc sulfide (ZnS), gallium arsenide (GaAs), germanium (Ge), and silicon (Si). Avantier offers many different coating types on special substrates for meeting any individual needs from UV to visible to IR wavelengths. Dielectric coatings are commonly employed to enhance mirror reflectivity for both S-polarized and P-polarized light. In most laser applications, achieving filter transmission or reflectance over an extremely narrow band (the laser line width) is pivotal. The selection of both substrates and coatings plays a critical role in optimizing the optical performance of laser-based devices.
Our precision laser optical elements are meticulously designed for various laser-based applications, such as laser illumination, collimation, and scanning. They prove invaluable in tasks like laser line generation, tracking, cutting, welding, dimensioning, and processing. Our extensive collection of high-quality laser lenses encompasses spherical and aspherical lenses, Axicon lenses, Powell lenses, and cylindrical lenses. We offer a diverse range of substrates, including BK7, H-K9L, Sapphire, UV-grade fused silica, IR-grade fused silica, calcium fluoride (CaF2), magnesium fluoride (MgF2), zinc selenide (ZnSe), zinc sulfide (ZnS), gallium arsenide (GaAs), germanium (Ge), and silicon (Si).
Laser Aspheric Lens offered by Avantier is meticulously designed to meet the exacting demands of cutting-edge optical applications and to eliminate almost all spherical aberration. With a diameter of 75mm and a thickness of 35.5mm, the laser aspheric lens is a powerhouse of optical performance. Crafted from high-quality H-K9L material, it ensures exceptional clarity and durability for a wide range of laser applications. Unlike a spherical lens, the curvature changes with the distance from the optical axis.
Laser line filters serve as narrow bandpass filters that effectively reject unwanted out-of-band radiation and ambient light while transmitting a specific spectral band. They enhance image contrast in laser-based imaging applications and prevent signal distortion in laser measurement devices. Our laser line optical filters, covering wavelengths from UV to visible to infrared laser light, exhibit ultrahigh transmission (T > 90%) at laser wavelengths and greater optical density (OD > 5) in the blocking regions.
Laser Polarizing Beamsplitter Cubes:
Our laser polarizing beamsplitter cubes consist of precision right-angle prisms cemented together, featuring a dielectric coating on one diagonal surface for splitting randomly polarized laser beams. These cubes transmit p-polarized laser light and reflect s-polarized light. We offer an extensive selection of laser polarizing beamsplitter cubes optimized for various wavelengths and laser types.
Laser Line Non-Polarizing Plate Beamsplitters:
Engineered to split laser beams 50/50 at a 45-degree angle of incidence, our laser line non-polarizing plate beamsplitters exhibit minimal absorption and an insensitive transmission/reflection ratio (50/50) to input beam polarization state. Their high laser damage thresholds render them suitable for demanding laser applications. Our range includes 12.5 mm and 25 mm diameter versions, as well as a 50 mm square variant.
BBO Crystals:
Avantier produces BBO Nonlinear crystals using flux technology. These crystals offer broad transparency from 188 nm to 5.2 µm and exceptional phase matching across most of this range. With high power non-linearity, especially in the UV range, and a robust damage threshold of 750 MW/cm² at 1064 nm, BBO crystals excel in various nonlinear parametric applications and high-intensity laser operations.
Nd: YAG Crystals:
Nd:YAG is a renowned laser crystal vital in various laser applications across industries like industrial, medical, military, and scientific fields. Avantier provides high-quality large-diameter Nd:YAG crystals, ensuring precise performance tailored to customer requirements through rigorous crystal growth and measurement processes.
